Class Spotlight! Beekeeping I: Hives and Honey Class

Class Spotlight! Beekeeping I: Hives and Honey. The last class of the season is Saturday, June 8th at 4:30pm.

Ok, so you found a colony of bees- now what? Ok, so you somehow managed to move the bees into an apiary- now what? Ok, so sadly the colony didn’t make it through the winter- what went wrong?

Sounds like you should sign up for our Beekeeping I: Hives and Honey class! In this course, we’ll cover the basic anatomy of a honeybee, the different caste systems within the colony, how the colony functions as a super-organism, how to "read" comb, different styles of hives, hive management, and honey harvesting. You’ll have opportunities to ask general beekeeping questions as well as specific questions about your own hive, concerns and curiosities.

This is a great class for beginner beekeepers or those curious to start beekeeping! And you will also be prepared for Beekeeping II: Hands on Hives.
